Privacy Policy

BlueprintElectronics (“we”, “us”) of Stanbank Building, 8th Floor, Shop A14, near the Archives, Nairobi CBD respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under the Data Protection Act, 2019 (Kenya).
1. What we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone number and a securely hashed password, and — only if you choose to give it — your gender.
- Order details: items bought, prices, delivery or collection choice, delivery area/address and receiver details you give us, payment method and M-Pesa/payment reference.
- Trade-in requests: device details and your contact details.
- Reviews you post (shown with your first name and last initial).
- Technical data: IP address and security logs used to protect accounts and prevent fraud.
- Browsing interest: which products and categories are viewed and what is searched for on this site, linked to a random browser code (not your name or email) — or to your account if you are logged in.
We do not store card numbers or M-Pesa PINs.
2. Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To process and deliver your orders and handle returns, refunds and warranty claims — performance of a contract.
- To send order confirmations, receipts and status updates by email and SMS — contract.
- To keep sales records required by the Kenya Revenue Authority — legal obligation.
- To keep the website and your account secure — legitimate interest.
- To understand which products customers are interested in, so we can stock the right items. Gender (optional) and browsing interest are only ever looked at in totals, never shown publicly or shared — consent for gender, legitimate interest for browsing statistics.
- Marketing messages only if you agree to them — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
3. Who we share it with
Only service providers who help us run the shop, under confidentiality obligations: email and SMS providers, couriers (only the delivery details they need), payment providers (e.g. Safaricom M-Pesa), and our hosting provider. Some of these may process data outside Kenya; where they do, we use providers with appropriate safeguards as required by the Act. We never sell your data.
4. How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is open.
- Sales records (invoices, receipts): 5 years, as required for tax purposes. If you delete your account, these records are kept without your name, email or phone.
- Security logs: up to 12 months.
- Browsing-interest statistics: up to 2 years.
5. Your rights
You have the right to be informed, to access your data, to correct it, to object to processing, to have it deleted, and to data portability. You can:
- Download your data or delete your account from your account page.
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong by contacting us below.
- Complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) — www.odpc.go.ke.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in securely, and your browser's local storage for your cart, wishlist, compare list, recently viewed items, colour theme and a random browser code used for the browsing statistics above. We don't use advertising trackers.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, staff accounts use two-step login, and access to customer data is limited to staff who need it.
